No - i haven't just been doing my hair!

quick how to - buy a new rear badge (or find a very nice Simon)
Separate them and spray the backing with plastic primer, colour and lacquer (or find a very nice Joe)
Stick em back together.
Heat the old badge up for a while (as shown above)

Get dental floss (any flavour will do) and using a sawing motion behind the badge to cut through the sticky foam pad.



What your left with will need removing - i did it with plenty of swearing, heating with a hair dryer and AutoGlym Intensive Tar Remover.




Till you get to this (took me bloody ages) -



Then whack your new sprayed badge on - stuck mine on with Servo Tape (available from all good model shops)

Looks great Dino, for such a small mod.

Couple of questions

1) Did you sand the black plastic at all

2) Is the spray out of a can or proper colour matched and from a proper spray gun, as I may consider this.

Yep - ordered it from the parts dept. Came to around 11 quid which is for the paint and lacquer

that looks wickid dino!! such a small mod but it makes sucha difference to the rear of the car!!
i also notice u've got an s2000 aerial on there aswell!!

Last question which I forgot to ask last time

What did you sand it with? I'm going to spray my GTi badge black and Redline said to lightly sand it, but I don't know what with.

should be ok to just use wet and dry paper before primer, only need to key it a bit to get the primer somthing to stick to...

Hi Joe here

Dinos badge was done without using primer! you can get a good key with the plastic that the badge is made out of.
Ive been painting with cans for a good few years now and dont really want to share my secrets sorry but buisness is buisness but it does involve several coats a flat sand more coats and several layers of laquer!

The VW paint cans are great they are a thin paint compared to halfords paint cans the laquer is good however can sometimes be a bit runny!

If you supply vw paint and laquer plus badge I can do the job for £20
May sound exspensive but consider its a good few hours of my time I think its worth it.

If you do want to do it yourself take your time and dont rush it!

How much for two badges?

same style badges? £30 if there both to be the same colour.

Both would be same colour.

I fancy getting a black badge sprayed up as well as a chrome, then choose which one to put on.

Should I contact Dino, when I get the badges?

When i pay you for the air filter you could stick the paint and badges in with it and i can drop it off to Joe for you?
