Searched everywhere

Post by bootie3367 »

On the forum for info about colour codes. All I can find relate to 'L' type codes. Unfortunately my colour code is J3 10. It's a 1981 Polo L 895cc By accident I managed to find a yank site that said my colour code is Audi Monaco Blue. Does anyone have the expertise or even contacts within VW to find out which VW paint this is now known as if any. Or will I have to go to a paint supplier to get a colour match. Also anyone with experience, do you know how much paint I will need for a complete re-spray?

Thanking you all in advance

Have you tired calling your VW dealer parts dept and asked them about the colour code?

I had thought of that, but wanted to try, a. The forum(s) first and b. don't get on well with them since we had a barney about a warranty item on a 97 polo. Almost 10 years on and they still remember me

If all else fails I will have to try them

Cheers

Good news, I finally found an 'L' code. It's LA5D which refers to J3 Audi Monaco Blue. So at least I have the correct VW number now :)
Ahh the joys of surfing all night long
