Just a little tip to pass on to other 9n owners, dont know if its been covered before.

Underneath the car on both sides are the two plastic undertrays, anyway I thought id take them off to see whats underneath. Mud and grit - tons of it.. obviously not good for the bodywork..

Cleaned it all up and sprayed some waxoyl on the body and put them back on.. (you may want to get some of the clips that hold them on as they snap sometimes.)

checked mine too today and hosed them all out. there was loads of of crap in them.

How easy is it to take off?

Its not that hard to do just fiddly. You need a socket to undo the clips, theres 8 of em i think, but be careful because if they catch on the tray and snap they are very sharp and will cut yer pinkies .

VW remove and clean these as part of the long life service schedule.
Apparently.

I never did mine as i thought VW would have taken mine off at the service to change the oil filter.

thats because volkswagen dealers are all rubbish and lazy.....
