Around 2 months ago i swithched on my headlights to find that i had lost one of the dipped bulbs, I replaced both dipped bulbs and for the next 2 months all my lights worked fine.

A couple of days ago when i got home from work i noticed that one of my side lights had blown, i was'nt very impressed. Then two days after at night i switched my lights on again and i saw in the the reflection that the other side of my dipped headlight had blow, so i had a dipped blown, and the other side a sidelight blown

I have replaced the dipped lights now so heres hoping they will not blow.

Anyone had problems like this? Was thinking maybe a short somewhere?

Also could someone tell me what light i need to get for the sidelight? (the lights that is in between the dipped light hole)

Yes had this problem before, I have had about 4 full sets of headlight bulbs in 3 years! Complaind to my dealer but the said it was a common fault! Plus the damn thing is you need to remove the bumper to get a new bulb in!

hmmm i've had both my dipped ones blow.... near enuff at the same time.

you should be able to replace all the bulbs with out removing anything else, unless it's a 1.9tdi. the 1.4fsi is a bit pushed for space too but can still be done.

never again lol, i changed my bulbs once and im not attempting it again ! haha

Or 1.4TDi - there is NO space for hands

took me hours to fit my new bulbs!! lost alot of skin on my hands too and they aint even in properly! then these new ones blew (h7s i think they were) so i had to put the originals back in and they dont sit properly either!

m7, that happened to me about putting my old ones back in, the guy at VW said that i had some clips missing while i changed them, so mine dont si very well neither

so does anyone know which light wattage i need? I need to replace this light soon as, its the light that sits closest to the grill, i think its the lightbulb at the top of round hole, that make sense?

W5W fittament bulb for the side lights, the small round lights on the inside of the main headlight. Easy enough to replace, just get a hold of em where they clip in and pull real hard.

I brought them off eBay in Australia for under $10AUD...cheap....I got blue LEDS for my sidelights. Looks sweet

yes they are the ones you need, you will get a white light look which is much better then the normal yellow the original bulbs give off.
