anyone done this on a Mk5? need to put a new aerial on as our's is buggered.... did this on my g40, but not sure if it's the same on a Gti/Mk5

There's some plastic trim at the back of the roof lining, is this just clipped or screwed...anyone have any idea.

If it's the 6n2 then it's a screw arial!!

not just the mast itself you dope the whole unit, inc. the base of the aerial

even my mum could swap the mast itself!

I've not had to change my aerial base, but the details on the repair kit can be found here. I understand that you have to remove the headlining (v v carefully) at the rear of the car there to gain access to the fixings for the base?

It's been a long day!!!

As Si say's, base is held in place with a nut hidden under roof lining
