Has anyone ever removed the rear VW badge,
If so, is it just a case of heating it up and using fishing line like all the other badges?
I just wondered because we have the rubber bit around it like this

Nah, I was looking at colour coding the black bit in between the VW sign.
I don't suppose you know how to split the badge do you, as in have the silver bit and the black bit seperate?

I am guilty of being a brute and just pulling mine off
It came off easy though, stickyness must have worn out

I believe there is an indent that the badge is flush too and also a small whole. So might be a good idea to do it over a sunny weekend. Dont want water getting into your boot.
That pic aswell, am i right in thinking its of a golf? And also why is there a
337 badge?

That pic is of a Golf yeah, although our badges are exactly the same.
I have a new badge to do it to, so they'll be one on there until I do it

337 is the US badging for the Golf 25th Anni
Hence why my old "dimpled" alloy pedals that I had on before the TT set were called "337 pedals", as they were OEM on that car (and some SEATs)

I've got it apart now guys, thanks to Ollie_R
Should hopefully be done and on the car for the Pod, I'll be sanding and priming tomorrow, and if I get far enough spraying it as well

It's ok for you MK4 owners, your badge is just the VW sign ain't it?

Unfortunately I won't be able to do a DIY Guide with pics, but I will be able to do a run through.

Quick update.
I nearly fuc*ed it up totally thanks to putting a fingerprint on the Laquer.
So I thought I'll mask all the other bits up and just spray that one, then the masking tape stuck to and peeled off the laquer.
Lesson learnt was make sure the laquer is totally dry!
It did look spot on, however there is a few small imperfections now, but hopefully nothing major.
Thank god for DIY
