Hi guys.

I have finished my motor-project. Now i have implanted a 2,0l 16v out of a Golf MK 3 GTI 16v.
It has 150 HP. Next thing is the trunk. There will be the stereo-equipment implanted with GFK. I don´t know the english word. Sorry. I´m from germany.

Damn! Looking good, conversion probably was hard wasn't it? And good luck with your trunk, it's not easy getting a smooth and clear result with GFK, but if you tak eyour time, it will look great!

Thank you. I hope the trunk will look nice in the end. A friend of mine has made such things with GFK and can give me hints so it will be easier. We will see. I will make photos of the endproduct.

im assuming GFK is glass reinforced fibers ( fiberglass)

looks smart love the wheels and the badboy bonnet ( i dont normally like them )

only thing i dont like is the cutout for the exhaust.

I don´t like the cutout, too. But it was in there when I bought it.

How hard was it to get the 2.0litre 16v in? I was thinking of putting a 2.0litre 8v in mine.

btw, i wanted to mount some neons in the footwells like you, but i'm a relative noob in these things and i don't know where to start from...i'd like to make them turn on in 2 ways

1 - when i open one of the doors
2 - using a switch (on -- off)

any ideas or suggestions?? where do you think it's best to connect the neon's wires?? thankyou (ps if i'm too OT, please tell me and i will make a new thread for this question..)

to turn on when the doors open is relitavly simple there is a switch on both doors that you can access from the interior panels ( by the seatbelt tentioners. all you do is probe the switch and intergrate it into the cuircet

i havent done it so without playing i wont be able to give step by step instructions

It took about half a year to implant this motor. To find the final composition of all components was very hard. There had to be another cooler, the brakes had to be changed and so on. Now I´m very happy about it and I have much fun with the car.

The lights in the footwells are very easy to install. Simply use the integrated switch. Only to the plus and the ground to your car and it will work, the other thing with the door-opening is more difficult, because on the one hand you have to have continuous current for the switch and on the other hand the switch of your doors. I have no idea to solve this problem.

I like that alot mate, looks like a lot of hard work has gone into it, the only thing Im not too keen on are the rear lights but they are by no means the worst lights seen on a mk4!
