GTi & VAG-COM

Can anyone tell me what can be sorted on the 6N2 GTi, with regard VAG-COM? I'd like anti-hijack, one-door unlock and alarm beep enabled when I get one.

Are these actually possible with the GTi? I know these were all possible on the Fabia, but then that's the same as a 9N Polo isn't it, so an earlier revision such as the 6N2 might not be able to have these features?

Can anyone shed any light?

Cheers,
Steve

I have tried to enable both the anti-hijack and one-door unlock on mine using the same codes as the Leon/Golf/Fabia and neither worked sadly. Never tried the alarm one though.

Alarm one works cos i have it done on mine! as for the locks they are a totally different set up compared to the golfs etc!

So thats why they dont work plus my bros golf has the anti-hijack and its a right pain in the arse! HATE it with a passion!!

Hmmm, interesting! So if you can enable the alarm beep, which is presumably done through the OBD port and VAG-COM, the other functions should be there well.

Why do you hate anti-hijack so much? I think it's a great idea personally...

Anti hi-jack is a pain in the arse. I have to agree with Ryan on that!

Its seems pretty cool but you get in the car start the engine and then your locked in. Personally its annoying whrn your picking people up or dropping them off. You have to deactivate it which is right annoying!

Numerous times have i dropped people off and forgot about it.......they try and open the door and can't! Birds are always the first to say......."you trying to lock me in, oh aye"

Best way to do it is just press the button inside that locks the doors.

Voila, anti-hijack

I got the alarm beep activated on mine.

Couldn't get the anti-hijack working or one-door unlock. Which i would have liked.

If the Fabia/9N anti-hijack system is anything to go by, it locks the doors at 7mph or above. Then if you're dropping people off, either hit the 'unlock' button on the driver's door, or the passenger can pull the door handle twice. As car-jacking is more prevelant now as modern cars are much more difficult to steal without the keys, I can only see the feature as a positive thing.

I might ask at the local stealer, see what the response is...

the polo wont do it, the central locking is a completely different air driven system. i was bothered at firt but am in the habit of pressing the lil door lock button under the window cotrols before i start the engine

I wouldn't mind activating the alarm beep.
I have the vg-com software so i've been looking on e bay for cables and found a few with diff plugs on end.

Here they are.

They will both work with the Polo, the big plug end is the bit that plugs into the cars diagnostic port and the other end is for the laptop

USB or serial port, depending on your version of vag-com you have
