Reply on other site....
Styling is going to be kept to a minimum at the mo. The car was bought to proove a point for the audio side of things so styling is'nt really a priority - Having said that we'll be staying close to the euro route, low, deep dish, smooth etc ....

Once the music has done its thing and the engine goes in then the styling starts!

Whats going in? LOL - A pair of 10's!!!

Progress for day 3! (5th April 2006)

Earth cables in.
Power and earth fully grommited
Signal cables fro front amp run
Speaker cables run
Headunit installed
Kick builds installed with mid-bass drivers
Tweeters installed in origional location for the time being
Crossovers installed
Car put back together! Carpet in, seats in, dash put back together etc.

If I'm honest, ICE isn't really my thing, but that looks like a really well executed install right there. I'm impressed with the way it's being done.

I can't help thinking the footwell speakers are gonna be a complete pain in the cock though.

now there's an idea :)

there's probably a host of audiological reasons why not however

it's not an actual risk anyway - it's a show car, come on - anyone going near it with muddy boots will be shot... repeatedly.... in the groin.... but only after being bloodily dismembered and the stumps dipped in salt

.................... sorry, i'm in a vindictive mood at the mo

How do people - Its my Project Rolo!

Well not much to report tbh - We did approx a weeks worth of testing, building new enclosures, tuning them, re builkding etc - A total of 12 enclosures were tested with the same woofers and countless vents and on the n'th moment - Wednesday night we smoked the last pair of woofers we had!!

So it was a case of either sack the competition till a new pair of woofer came in and play start again - or build a new enclosure for something we had in stock - Which is what we did.

Results - 1st plase at Donny!! Chuffed is not the word! lol

We also got another 1st with a customers car, a second and a third!

2006 - The year of Bassmechanix!

What're you using for the split charge?

Posted: Thu Apr 20, 2006 9:36 pm
by Hulk Hogan
For a SPL car you dont use split charge relays. They cause a voltage drop making the system less efficient.

If you are creating a car for audio purposes then a split charge relay is a good purchase. A couple of point people fail on is that the batteries must be the same age and same type. Make sure the relay is live on ignition otherwise youd end up with a battery drain.
