I bought Minis84 1992 Polo GT awhile back and its done me well, however recently its been idling very rough, missfiring and at times stalling. I think it could be the fuel filter and lambda sensor, one question is how many cables does the lambda sensor have?

Also i keep hearing a beeping noise, it seems to be my horn beeping but could it be anything else? No lights on dash or anything. If it is the horn does anyone no how to fix it?

Also can you buy rear exhuast mounts from anywhere? Mines broke off and ive made a tempoary one to hopfully get it through the mot?

Well it passed its mot and the missfire has gone so guess it was just a fault.

Still my horn keeps beeping. Has anyone had this problem before? If so can you help me?

i've never heard of the horn beeping? you checked the connections under the cover on the steering wheel? maybe come loose and occaisionally moving onto the bit to make it beep? bit of a long shot? you can buy the replacement rubber exaust mounts from most places really, VAG parts at the bottom of the forum, euro car parts, GSF, vw stealers.

Well the exhaust mount is ok for the time being, may replace it in the future, mot guy said it was fine.

As for the horn, ive had the steering wheel cover off, checked the connections and they do not touch, id say it was a bad earth but it stops when i remove the cables from the switch, it also doesnt do it once, it wil go, beep.............. beep. beep. beep................ beeeeep..... beep.

I cant explain what causes it, as if it was the switch then when i pull it up it still happens, only when cable is removed from back it stops, im quite stumpted, ill be investigating further at weekend. going to find where the earth is behind the wheel, see if thats causing it, saying that i dont think it will be.

if its not the horn is there anything else it could be?

The puzzle continues, its not the horn switch as when i take it off it continues and seems to do it more when wet, also when closing door with ignition on makes it sound, im thinking that the horn itself is broke. Anyone agree or disagree?

hey i had the same problem (my fault) the thin peice of metal that acts as the swiitch touches the other metal when you put the cover on as it gives pressure to it, get a flat head screw driver and put it RIGHT at the place where the metal comes out of the mounting, its a sort of ___
| shape, where the part that goes down goes into the wheel, put the screw driver where the angle is 90 degrees so you can use it as a pivot point and bend the rest of the metal upwards....worked for me although i still get the odd beep sometimes lol, let me know if that is help or if you need help understanding it lol

I didnt get that at all... if your on about the actual horn switch ive checked all that and no contacts touch, it also goes off at times with the horn switch taken out and unplugged.
