I need ur advice ???

If any1 has changed the motor in a MK2 please give me some advice. What motor have u fitted and also how hard was the conversion to do.

What sort of performance figures would i get with a 2.0 16V motor ???

2.0 16v engine probably weights about twice as much as the original engine, plus the engine bay on a polo is really small. People have done this conversion in the past, but mostly its the crazy germans that have dared to be different!

What engine does it have at the moment? The biggest engine you can reallistically fit in is a 1600 out of a newer polo or golf.

MMMMmmmm.....At the moment it'sgot the 1300 crossflow motor....

I know that i will have to change the mountings, etc. but thats all cool

Lots of guys here in South Africa have done those conversions on the early MK1 Golfs that had the same mountings as this car.

Engine bay doesn't seem to be much smaller than a MK1 golf....Are you sure ???

I'm either gonna fit a 2.0 16V or a 2.0 8V......I'm sure i'll get it in....

First gettin the car resprayed and then gonna sort the motor out....

Gonna opt for a full 57mm exhaust with branch as well.....or who knows i might just decide to bolt on a turbo......

mmmm....Unnaturally Aspirated.....but that will end up costing too much....

mk1 golfs have those size engines fitted standard though. 1.6 GTI and so on, its more or less the same block as the 2.0. if you have the smaller engine in a golf you just need to swap the mounts I think, not the same in the polo as theres nowhere for the big block mounts to go. The engine bay is definately alot smaller.

If you think you can do it, then the very best of luck. It would be very interesting to see it when finished.

which 1300 engine is it? HH? HK? MH?

It's mainly an issue of height, Golf's are mostly fitted with tallblock engines, Polos with shortblocks. (1.3 Golf being the obvious exception).
