I've just had the front tyres replaced with Conti Sport Contact 2 tyres. Had them on when i bought the car , they have been brilliant in the wet & the dry even when down to the wear indicators.
Just asking if anyone else has used this tyre

, because i haven't heard anyone mention them when a tyre thread has been posted

I had them when I originally bought the polo, didn't think too much of them at all tbh

eagle F1s were an absolute revelation in comparison !

I've got Michelin Exaltos. They're pretty good as well.

The Toyos are good but they are extremely soft, I barely managed twelve months and about 9000 miles on mine before they needed replacing on hte fronts. Rears are still on 6mm tread!!
Never had the chance to try Contis but they're OEM fit to all VWs in my dealership's showroom.

I like ContiSports, they're a good long lasting tyre!

The conti Sports i had on when i got the car, lasted a good 12000 miles & theymust have been half woren. Still good in the wet, even when on the wear indicator.

Not a fan of the Conti's myself. Had them on a Focus and didn't like them. Seemed a very hard compound and consequently not that grippy. Replaced them with a pair of Avon ZZ3s which were superb, but only lasted 8000 miles because they were so soft and grippy!
On the Toyos and wear, depends if you're talking about the T1-R or T1-S. The later S varient is apparently much better, while still having good grip levels.
I'm going for Eagle F1 GSD-3s next time myself, because I've heard so many good things about them. Uniroyal Rainsport 1s and Kumho Ecsta 712s and KU31s are at the top of my list too.

My Polo has gone now

, but I was planning to put eagle F1's on it. I have just put 4 eagle f1's on our other car and they have transformed the grip - they might not last as long as others because I think are a slightly softer compound, but the grip could save your life so just go get em!

The T1-R replaced the T1-S, didn't it?

Well spotted, you're right.

Proxes T1-R will gradually replace the Proxes T1-S to be the ultimate tyre for performance use.
