My cars been at the dealers for a interior water leak for over a week and Ive been loaned a mk5 SDI golf.

I cant believe how sssslllooowww a new car could be. The difference the turbo makes on a diesel is like night and day. Its got no acceleration at all it 'gathers momentum' , and its really unrefined with it.. The funny thing is Ive been in a sdi polo and it seemed 'nippy' compared to it.

But it is better than walking..

whats the spec on that, now, then?
(and how many miles has it done, perhaps the ecu is in some kind of odd running-in mode)

gathering momentum heh... like the ol' mk3 did... point it down a straight road, flatten the pedal and wait for the needle to slowly - but surely - creep upwards

Think its done 9000 miles, looking at it though the mk5 is a bit of a bloater.. and 70bhp aint a lot for a car of that size.

I want my polo baacckkk..

funny, my astra must be about as heavy, has 69hp (officially) and an (almost) diesel-like amount of torque... feels quick enough... enough spunk to keep up with a mentalist in a year-old 1.4 zetec fiesta three-up with bags across the cambrians. you didn't used to own a GT by any chance did you? :D

(nah, it'll be inherent dieselness and poor setup, probably - having driven a lightweight-looking Kangoo with allegedly similar amounts of power on paper, but couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding in real life)
