Just wondering what the most amount of Petrol you guys have put in the GTi, I put £49 in today

According to the manual the tank is 45 litres (7 of which is the reserve)

I put in 47 litres, the light only came on yesterday and I didn't use it that much while it was on.

woah thats a lot! how much was the price per litre?

The most i've put in is something like £38ish and thats when i was quite into the red lol

I managed 49 litres once i think. I posted up about it ages ago cos didnt think it could take that much.

I hardly fill a full tank to be fair, just shove £15s and £20s if im feeling abit richer lol

103.? a litre, BP Ultimate

I've just given up on caring how much I put in, or how much it costs.

Keep having to brim it whenever I see a Shell garage, as theres a shortage of Optimax around here at the minute apparently.

one quick question

on the gti, under normal driving conditions ...

how many miles can you get out of the tank once the light comes on? approx?

My record so far is 275 miles...and that was well into the red.

Optimax around my area is 99p

The most i've got out of my car is 300 miles until the reserve tank light come on. That was with optimax and I filled the car to the brim.

I've put 46 litres in once, think the actual tank is 45 litres but the filler pipe probaly takes a 3 or 4 litres you can get more in by letting the air out of the pipe theres a little nipple on the right that if you push down with the nossle will release air and allow you to put a couple more litres in.

I generally made 300 miles out of a tank before the light came on, on a long trip just before I got rid of it I made 405miles before the light came on !!

i do a lot of motorway miles, and i normally get approx 400 miles before the light comes on, maybe more with a lighter right foot.

Town/city driving i probably get more like 325 miles (ish), on a good day.

ah i feel good, i got 300 just as the light flicked on!! and that was going slgihtly faster than normal on the m5

my dads managed to put 48 in the polo but that was after the garage ran it into nothingness!!!

what mileage do u get in the last 1/4 tank as i notice my red is virtually the whole tank and my light flicks on as soon as i drop below 1/4

I usually get about 280 in normal town driving, the other day I drove from Bedford to Barnsley and back (about a 283 mile round trip) and I ended up getting 347 miles.

yer i get about 312, 315 a tank thats when the red comes on dont like using it in the red startes usingthe crap in the bottom of the tank.

thats a lot o money per lt tom all supers are about 99p per lt down my way!
