Pedal box mount / bracket.

Hi,
on my daughters recently aqquired Polo 1.0 lt., i have noticed the following. When dipping the clutch, or pushing down on the accelerator there seems to be some correlation between the two, ie, you can feel in the accelerator pedal when you dip the clutch and movement in the acelerator pedal when the clutch is dipped!.
I must admit it doesn'nt. seem overtly dangerous...just annoying.
On one thread, someone mentioned that the pedal box mount/bracket can become damaged or bent if the clutch cable, at some time, becomes stiff through lack of lubrication....a known fault on Caddys especially.
Can someone tell me if this seems to have happened to this vehicle in the past causing the present symptoms.Or is this a quirk that all polos suffer from.
I have had a cursory look in the pedal area and notice that is very crowded down there,..........and quite few things will have to be moved to get at the pedals!.At the moment I can only feel up in that area and so cannot see if there is any damage to the bracket. The one thing I can make out is that the two cables are some distance apart on the bracket and go independantly through the bulkhead, so ones movement shouldn't affect the others.
So, can someone confirm that this a problem common to polos and that the bracket does indeed need looking at.
Many thanks....Ron H.
