Due to fuel crisis, traded my cally v6 against a two year old polo 9n last august through family which had 45,000 on it. Mainly out of city business driven miles, put another 12,000 on it mainly city use.

Previousy i had always bought old sports, fixing them with scrap parts, serviced myself etc. Now i'm dealing with the novel reality of pricey VW labour, warrantyrules, strict service schedules.

I looked at some prices for repairs. A wire for the brake pad sensor £250 (kwik fit broke it) , replacement headlamp (due to trying to change the bulb myself) £350 ...

pheww that whole lot could have been done for £50 DIY.

Anyway trying to set aside a budget here, so looking for feedback on what non warranty servicable items is likely to wear out the coming year.

When are Clutch, Cat, exhaust or other pricy bits i am not aware of, likely to peter out ? I Tend to drive a lot round the torque spot 3000 rpm.
