hello people,
ive just got my gti fog lights along with the 3 honeycomb bumper grilles and the fog lights with their grille surrounds have gone straight on no problems!
But the middle 1 i cant understand how 2 get it off! you cant get your hand round the back to it. ive tried pulling, punching, kicking and biting it but nuthin seems 2 work grrrr...
any tips?

I didn't change mine yet because of that!

As far as I know you have 2 choices:

- Get the front bumper off and get the grill off from the inside, because it has some kind of hooks that stick it to the bumper.

Or,

- Use a stong wire, get it to pass around those hooks, and break them using the wire to pull them.


If you get to know another way to do it, please say something because I'm interested in that too.

anyone know? surely sum1 has done it

i tihnk its bumper off job mate. iv clipped them in when i got a new bumpoer. but never tyaken them out. just whip the bumper off, its easy and only a 15 minute job.

o really, do i ned 2 take anythin else off before the bumper comes off? like the lights or grille?
and wher are the bolts an screws which hold the bumper on? i dont wana think ive undone them all and end up damaging something lol.

At least, you have to take the upper and lower-side grills off. Don't know If you have to take something else off, though.

i fink i will jus get it up on a ramp lol probly be a ton easier tht way!

the grille clips into the bumper and also with 2 screws is held on to the engine bay bit. just take it off with the bumper. just takes a minute. cant really remember but i dont think the lights will need to come off. think theyre are only 6 or so screws. a couple in each wheel arch etc. i cant rally remember. just give it light tugs after you've taken the screws from the inner arch out then you'll know if there are any remaining ones. hope this helps

I just threaded some string though the holes in the grille, spreading across the grille and then giving it a mighty tug - broke all the clips on the top row and side and then it came out... be careful not to chip the paintwork
