i want to change my headlights and beam to get the xenon look, also get rid of the yellowy colour of my indicators

where do i get these ?
wot 1's should i get ?

Xenon look as in Xenon "look" or as in you want real Xenons?
If the latter, VAG Parts sell kits and I helped fit Scorpios.

As for the "yellowy colour" of the indicators, I think Philips Silver vision is what you need - dunno where to get them though!

I run Philips BlueVision. They are quite blue. And legal.

As a follow up members might be interested in this. I ordered 2 pairs of the Philips Silver Vision bulbs on the web from Powerbulbs.com. They are doing a 15% discount so the total came to £26.95. I mentioned UK-Polos.net and within minutes of sending my order I received an e mail refunding 10% of the total. That's got to be good service!
I'll let you know what the bulbs are like when I fit them.

I can't remember 100%, but you *may* have to remove the front bumper to change the indicator bulbs!! - I know you do for the main/dipped bulbs, but not for the sidelight bulbs, *just* - but I can't remember about the indicators Scorpio - can you remember mate?

I haven't yet looked fully to see what's involved; it looks very messy! I know that on a friend's Golf there was an enormous amount of hassle. I may have to wait until the weekend to fit the new bulbs. I'll let you know what's involved. If I can work out how to put photos on this forum I'll include some.

Ok well if you do end up taking the bumper off and need a bit of advice, just ask. Also if you need help putting pics up, just ask!

Well this is going on the 1.9 TDI (so should be easier for most) the indicators and dipped beam are near impossible to change without the bumper off.

As for the sidelight bulbs and main bulbs you CAN change these on the car but have hand cream and tons of patience at the ready!

Fitted the new non-yellow Philips Silver Vision bulbs today. The nearside on the Polo was a doddle! Just a matter of squeezing a hand between the battery housing and the headlamp housing. Remove plastic cap, twist a plastic blade and the bulb came out in it's holder. It takes longer to describe than do!
HOWEVER the offside was another story, that's because the car is the 1.4 tdi. The fuel filter housing on the diesel prevents access to all the bulbs on the nearside. It took me almost three hours to work out how to get at the bulbs. If anyone is trying to change the bulbs on a new Polo diesel let me know and I'll describe the steps involved. Hopefully this problem isn't present on petrol versions but I haven't checked.
The new bulbs are a great improvement - no more yellow splodge in the lamp housing.
Incidentally Powerbulbs.com also sent a free pair of Philips W5W Blue Vision parking light bulbs with my order. The odd thing is that VW already fit blue parking light bulbs on the new Polo but the new bulbs seem brighter than the old ones - so another bonus.

No problem here with petrol models (we got no diesels here). As U see in the picture, no fuel filters to bother. I´ve made this change in my Polo and it took me no more than 10 minutes (both sides).



Can´t say the same about the fog bulbs. Suggestions?
