Hello
I'm new to the forum, but what what i've seen so far am VERY impressed! I've already found some really good DIY guides and it's really easy to use. So congratulations for making it a great forum.
I was wondering if any of you could help me out. I'm looking to buy a mk4 but at the moment I'm contemplating which model to go for.
I thought about an open air polo but know very little about them.
Can anyone tell me what they're like? do they get cold? any probs with leaks? What are your views on the open air?
Also has anyone got any pics of the roof from the inside, showing the headliner and what the rag top looks like from the inside etc?
Thanks for looking and I hope you can help me.

yo. I have a mk4, openair.
It makes no difference to the air temp at all! From the inside it just looks like a normal roof, well kinda.
It's the same colour inside as the interior. It's very tough - you couldn't just pull it open and it has metal bars accross in the material so it's kinda safe from theives too. Im sure they would simply smash a window before attaking the roof anyway.
It's made outa rubbery s**t on the outside. I just wash it like it was a normal roof, it's fine. Still very black. Cars a 98 too.
I don't open mine too much because I never think too, in summer it's great though... Id get an openair over a normal or sunroof anyday... better to have it than not!
Hope that helps.
p.s
If you do get one make sure you remove those pretty transferes on the side that say openair. pretty bent, they were.

My open air is my baby and they are awesome. The roof is so much fun. whilst everyone sits in their car you can sit on yours! The only complaint i have about the car is that you get vibrations form the windows when the roof is open aswell as the windows. Which is gay, but why the hell would you want them both open at the same time neways?
Open airs are awesome, everyone i know loves my car. Even though theyre chavvy essex boyz they are won over by my marvelous roof. Es ist fantastiche!
The only place they seem to tear and rip is right at the back in the first fold. Ive seen them repaired though. Still a minor problem that doesnt look expensive to fix imo.
