i have a specification list for the 1991 G40 and it specifies that the cassete player in them should be a Panasonic H05, digital-tune stereo radio/cassete, with pull-out facility.

i Hope that is of some help to you!

Sounds like you are converting a G40 back to standard! as am i, hows it going? got any pictures?

its quite annoying as i have a perfectly operational Panasonic J05 radio which is probably identical!

Good luck with restoring her back to original! i won't be long following! make sure you keep us up to date with your progress!

oh, and has for the radio, the one i have differs slightly from the model number of the one you require! if there is actually any difference i am not sure (by the way, the one i quoted you was for a 1991 G40, so they may differ from year to year too!)

i still like the abilty to play cd's though, i personally wouldn't sacrifice my own comfort even for something small like that for the sake of keeping it retro....i'd still keep the orginal so i could change it back without damaging the car but hey, everyone is different 8)

I can never be bothered changing cds on my mp3 HU, so getting one of them is just the next step for me. Shame the radio in my mk2 is crap. :P

that's the other reason too, my old mk2 blaupunkt radio sounded like listening to a wartime radio, new sony is clear as a bell 8)
