Noisy doors

Just wondering do people suffer from noisy doors (possibly the door seals) on 3 door Polo's. Ive always had this in every car I own but i was wondering if its possible to sort it? Its like when going over humps and stuff you hear the doors creaking and can get annoying if you have the stereo off. 
I lubed the door seals with silicone spray and it went away for like 30 mins then came back. Im thinking it may be the doors needing adjusting. Ive done some searches on this forum and found that some people had them adjusted by VW and it was sorted.
Just wondering what part they adjust, as i'd like to do it myself is possible, or has anyone had this problem and cured it differently?
