Perhaps its a hole in the exhaust pipe and the eggy smell you get from the catalyst is comming through the vents?

an eggy smell very often means that the cat is on its way out

Its prob just your pollen filter element that is damp and needing changed. You can take it out n give it a clean and spray it with a after shave or a smell you like.

cabin / pollen filter is under the cowling where wipers are, lift the bonnet and remove the right hand side piece and you can see it underneath

Hello there it has been to VW today, they are unable to find out what the fault is.. They have carried out a battery test/alternater test encase of over charging, and checked the cat and that isnt blocked etc. They want me to book it in again, however I may have to pay 2 hours+ labour if it is not covered under VW Used car Warrany (£190!)
