hi guys,

i've had my gti for over a year now, shortly after i got it the clutch went and i had to have that replaced


the gearbox has always been notchy, i've never forced it, just have to wait for it to let me put it into gear sometimes, its almost like the slot that the stick goes in has become very narrow u know? thats the only way to describe the reluctance with which it goes into gear sometimes.

i had it serviced by vw last month, and asked if they could check the alignment of the gear linkages, and lo and behold when i got my car back i was in seventh heaven, a whole year of a gearbox letting the car down and finally it was sorted, lovely and free, would go into gear without problem, none of this notchyness, just smooth unhindered gear changes,


BUT


three weeks after that the notchness has returned, i took in back to them and they say its fine - but it isnt, they say the linkages are still fine

i dont understand how it can change so drastically

its now notchy and sometimes feels a little grindy/granchy when i change sometimes, its pissing me off so much

i just want this problem sorted as i love the car, and thought it had been sorted after they looked at it, i dont udnerstand why it has come back


any ideas peeps?
