How f*****g s**t are insurance company's.
For the last 2 years i have been paying £5.99 a month to cover my mobile phone incase of theft, unauthorised calls or damage. So on Friday night when i return home from a night out i realise my phone has slipped out of my pocket and onto the taxi seat. Bastard. Straight away i start to call my phone hoping the taxi driver will hear it and be decent enough to return it too me. Not my luck though, it rings through to the answer phone so come Saturday morning i call O2 and cancel my sim.
All i need to do now is call my insurance company and make the claim. Well i manage to get thought to them today for them to say that i should read through the terms of cover! And would you bloody believe it, i'm covered for pretty much naff all.
It turns out the only way i'm covered for theft (in simple terms) is the following
1: been mugged forcefully and notifying police
2: having it taken from my possesion as long as it was concealed and out of view
3: my car been broken into and alarm going off
4: my house been forcefully broken into and reporting to police.
So basically 3 and 4 are covered under car and home insurance so they're conning me out of money for that. And 1 and 2 are my only chance of claiming.
Is it worth me trying to say i fell asleep in the taxi and the driver took my phone from my pocket then woke me up to drop me off. Or have i well and truelly been severley conned by s**t Allianz and Cornhill for £140 over the past 2 years.
Insurance........what an absolute joke!
Rant over!
