how many miles has your baby covered? and wats left?????????

I've just nudged up past 113,000 and getting kind of worried now at how many more are left in my baby 1.4. I've had her since 86k and got it upto 113,000 in two years of driving. Things were going fine 10k a year untill starting using her a bit more (mainly traveling to see girlfriend) The car got F/S/H when i got her and i sorted things out on the milage milestones. what i want to know is how long do these German tanks run for and worst comes to worst how much are replacement lumps incl labour ? dont all shout 1.8T at me i mean normal replacement lump eg the 1.4 8v or even cheekier 16v. got a feeling i'll be replacing my engine before i bother replacing the car because she just keeps going! so im on 113,000 what are u guys and girls on highier lower ? and when do they go pop normally ? please add to list, poss make sticky?

I bought mine with 51k on the clock and since then have added a further 24k in three years to get up to 75k miles now. With some tlc and regular servicing, you should be able to see 200,000 miles without any issues, if not many more. You regularly see stories in the news of owners who have done 300k or 400k miles in their cars, and not just VAG motors either!

not a polo I know.. but the same engines as the mk5... my
W (2000) 1.4 (100bhp) Lupo has 123,000
X (2001) 1.4 (75bhp) Lupo has 101,000
both running strong. no problems.
think they could both do double that.
and the 123k one is used as a track car and gets driven hard.

Bought it with 71k in nov last year for my bday, and less than a year on, i hit 90k this morning driving to work!
feels sweet as a nut though!!

Only had my 1.0L 1996 P for 2 weeks, its done 97k, im sure and hoping it will go on or many more yet!
My brother had a D reg Merc, done over 200,000, german engineering = fantastic!
