VW Roofbars..

I've bought a set of VW (genuine) roofbars off ebay, they are for a five door going by the part number on them. Unfortunately they didn't come with instructions.

Ive got the front one to fit fine, after a bit of adjustment the front doors shut ok and they don't leak even though it deforms the outer rubber seal, but the back one seems to push on the inner rubber seal on the door and allows water in. Has anyone got any idea of what im doing wrong, or how to adjust them properly, :? or better still a copy of the instructions.. :D

Have you had a look in the owners handbook as I'm sure I've seen something about roof bar's.

Other than that i know nothing about them....sorry.

That's helpful then lol!!

Maybe give VW a ring and see if they can give you some advice over the phone.

The genuine VW roof bars should come with a crappy little piece of plastic that is designed to insert between the door rubbers... this is meant to prevent the deformation... I've found they're quite a waste of time but thats the theory!

Jamo
