Gauges

My petrol needle likes to have fits now and again. Haven't got a clue whats wrong with it. Sometimes it reads 1/2 tank, next thing it's just above red. Turn my engine off and start it back up, then reads just over 1/2. Anybody experienced problems like this? cheers

sounds like a faulty sender/sensor to me! i had the same sort of problem with my engine temp gauge, it would go to 90 (about half way) and thn would all of a sudden, drop to 0!!
i'd get it checked out mate, probably best to go to vw so they can plug it in and check for fault codes!

I had the same trouble with my temp gauge myself. I changed the temp sensor and its all puka now. Cheers mate
