if your car has them they are in the center interior light unit

I think i have them, behind a grille that spans the entire centre light console?

It's just I've had the alarm on, windows down and waved around in the car and they don't pick up on it very quick. Can the sensitivity be adjusted?

Yeah Could be faulty.

I was testing mine out two weeks ago actually and it went off almost immediately after waving my hand towards the light console. Even goes off if the window is open with no waving but did take a good few seconds before going off.

OK just noticed that when i put the key in the ignition onto the first position the button for turning the interior sensor's off flashes yellow - is that normal as I've never noticed it before but to be honest I've never used it so may not have noticed whether it flashes?

I sat in the car and pressed the lock button on the key fob once and waved my hand in front of the sensor and nothing, then opened and locked using the button twice and again nothing when waving my hand in front of the sensor.

Any advice appreciated..

Made a shock discovery too - i always pressed the lock button twice but i read in the owners book that this disables the deadlocks and alarm!!! i thought it was the other way around - press twice to enable the deadlocks and alarm - whoops!!!!!

The interior sensor button, are you referring to the button on the drivers side rear door card? if so I've never noticed that. Always stays lit red AFAIK.

Pressing the lock button once I believe is to enable alarm/deadlock combo.

Twice switches the alarm off but remains locked.

dino, i guess the internal alarm is armed after 30 seconds. and yes, pressing the lock button twice deactivates the internal alarm function, only locks the doors. same as pressing the deactivation button for 2 seconds and then locking the car with a single press on the key button.
hope this is useful
