Hi guys

Yep, after my mechanic mate diagnosing our box with diff whine (its always been notchy and sometimes difficult to get into gear) the misses and I have gone from bloody hell lets trade it in quick, to no its a bloody good little car and its worth doing as everything else is perfect on it! -emotional rollercoaster to say the least -even looked a new beetle today, nice but not nearly as good a package.

So where's best to get a new box from?
From doing a bit of reading on the forum Ace gearboxes in Northampton and Volkspares seem to have been used before.
Of course money is the factor but its worth paying for something thats done properly and will last -hopefully.
We're based in N Cornwall.

well i went with volkspares... they kept me informed of everything even tho my local garage was buyin the box from them and they told me any probs giv them a ring and theyl sort it.. i dealt with trevor from hq iv posted the num on here b4.. top bloke

Thanks for the reply, how many miles have you done on the new box and clutch? –are they still performing well?
Sounds obvious but I assume you got a rebuilt GTi box rather than a standard Polo box? (same ratios etc as original).
