Hi guys,

It's been just over 2 weeks since my car has been out of the garage from having the gearbox bearings replaced and a new clutch.

I was driving it the other day then all of a sudden my ABS light came on, so i turned off my ignition, turned it back on and the light went out. This has happened twice now so i am just wondering whether somethings wrong??

Could the mechanics who fixed my car disturbed something which will make the light come on??

Cheers guys for any suggestions :? :)

hmm, that does sound a little strange. I had a similar problem. But my local VW specialist cleared it off using their "Vag-Com" or similar software. I've also had it when my wheels have been changed, but this normally goes off after 1 mile or so of driving.

Sorry if thats not much help. If it's of any use to you - its a company in Wigan called Dubsport. (just noticed that you were from Manchester - so only 30mins away)

my abs light coming on was caused by faulty sensors, which vw replaced. first one was done under warranty and the second cost me about £90 fitted!

it might causes by ABS wire damage,
If it got out of the clip,
then the tyre can rub it everytime you turn the wheel.

Check it, see if there are any signs of damage on that wire,
it should attached to the lower part of front shock.
