I've got a 1.9 PD 100, and although I wasn't looking to upgrade the side mounted intercooler on mine. I happen to have a spare FMIC off the new Focus ST, its basically the intercooler also used on 2.5T T5/R volvo's.

Here it is, sorry not a very good picture:

I'm wondering what sort of intercooler the POLO has and ST's use? As this intercooler seems to have a two hose connections???

Maybe its a similar set up to Golf's with the 1.9 TDI engines?

Many Thanks in advance.

Oh I see.

The forge one, you fitted. Do you recall it having tubes on both sides like the st one I've got? I can see the ST one is broader, yet shorter in height.

Just looked on Forge website too, and the intercooler shown for the 1.8T at least shows a return pipe. I guess one with both pipes on the same side are more suitable.

only one with pipes on both sides will fit these no room for the pipe work if you have the intercooler with piprs on both ends

Is that what the large pipe coming from around the turbo is for ?? connecting to intercooler...

What is the cannister above this with lots of smaller pipes coming from it ??

Trying to work out what all the parts are (My first turbo diesel car).

Thanks

:D

P.s. Waiting for Haynes to release manual...

LOL, Haynes manual.

The large pipe indeed is for the intercooler & that canister adjacent to the headlight is your fuel filter.

is there no point in replacing the intercooler unless you remap the car, or can the ecu compensate to see inlet temps are cooler?

i need a intercooler

The forge ibiza one will fit, and I recommend going for it. A fellow member has the same on his Polo GT 130.

Hope this helps
