Just out of interest, anyone had to replace discs/pads yet?

Might be getting a set under warranty as I think my discs have warped

Ooops!
Just found out that the pads are the same as a mk5 Polo!

Don't think i'll be uprating my pads/discs as the stopping power seems more than anadequate. The only thing I don't really like is the usual VW pedal travel (though its much improved compared to the MK3!

I'm finding mine scary at times

They seem to be getting worse although there is plenty of life left in the pads and discs I think.

To be honest, I thought my pads + discs would only last 15K at the most

Perhaps I've been selling too many Audi pads + discs

I've gotta admit though I have noticed a slight drop in braking power over the last two months.
However, the VW service schedule (from memory) says that all models should have a brake fluid change at 40,000 miles. Perhaps our brake fluid is starting to go Hygroscopic mole?

Yeh possibly - now at 32k so not far off!
I'll see how they go.

I had my brakes adjusted and the discs replaced 4 times from warping :/
They apparently had to adjust my brakes for some reason after that and it stopped them from having the same problem.

From what I can tell it results in a juddering from the brakes during a long brake...
I have to say that I noticed this more when it came to high speeds than slow

Do you guys sit with your foot on the brake in stationary traffic (rather than using the handbrake)?
There's a reason why I ask...

I thought that VW's insisted on a brake fluid change at 2 years? The service book doesn't seem to specify a mileage interval.

Does anyone actually know whether we have a brake pads low warning light??
