How hard are the front door cards to get off the GTI? My front passenger speaker is crackling slightly and it's starting to annoy me. New speaker needed most prob. Cheers

Pretty simple to remove to be honest.

Open the door fully. Look at the front of the door card (that faces the front wing when the door is closed) and you will see a screw that can be undone and removed.

Then carefully remove the plastic insert on the interior door handle (they're quite flexible so try not to bend them too much) and you will find two more screws that need to be undone and removed.

Once all three are out, the door card can be lifted off, taking care to remove things like the switch panel for the electric windows.

I can get you some pics if you like :)

I'm glad its that easy as i need to get round to doing this soon as well. I need to change both grab handles and covers for both doors. Once the door card is off i presume taking the grab handles off is a straight forward case of undoing some more screws.

Thats the bit i forgot to buy but on the passenger side mine isn't noticably different unless up close. I managed to change the handles during my lunch break and it really isn't that difficult.....hardest bits was balancing the cards as i disconnected the electrics
