My horn on my GTI has had a fit. When I press it, it makes a high pitch noise. It doesn't show any anger at all, just makes me look gay, lol. New horn needed I think.

Is filled with water. Take the passenger side wheel and arch liner off, and you have loads of access to the two horns. Take them off, dry them out with paper towel/hairdryer etc, then remount them so they cant colect water. Worked for me!

since we're on the topic, is it possible to swap the horn over to a mk 4 golf/bora horn? only ask cuz in comparison to the golf/bora horn, the polo one sounds gay even when its working fine!? :(

Yeh, Changing the horn is easy as its just a + and - connection. I've fitted a big Audi Horn.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the 2 tone horn on the Polo, well the GTi anyway.

I've had to order a new horn for my GTI. The high frequency is alright but the low is full of water. Used a hairdryer and done nothing for me. Also used a blow torch and melted my horn, lol. Bought a new one from VW for £26, and thats just for the low frequency.
