Spent over 6 hours on my wheels today!

Well today I did plan on doing the wheels and washing/claying/waxing the car today but only got the wheels done. It was 0 degrees the whole day practically and now I feel ill. With it getting dark at 3.30 here there wasn't much time to clean the whole car. Anyway here are the pics - there are a lot!

All the mess I planned to get rid of:

Taking one of the wheels off to reveal:

Back of the wheel:

Rinsed the wheel down with the hose then applied some Wonder Wheels:

Since my drive isn't flat I had to clean the arches in the garage. Just used a little bit of Megs NXT Shampoo with a non scratch sponge, and paint trays to catch all the crap. Fancy a drink?:

Here is the arch after. Not perfect, but wasn't ment to be:

Going back to the wheel I rinsed off the wonder wheels, then used the nxt shampoo again with the non scratch sponge to get rid of the dirt. There were a lot of stubborn tar marks which took a long time to get rid of:

Image

Tried using Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover with the sponge but it was no good. Ended up using white spirit to get rid of it but later managed to use the Autoglym stuff effectively. Here is the wheel after:

Image

Dried the wheel with a Sonus drying towel. Then treated it using CG Wheel Guard (smells good!), applying it with the Megs foam applicator and buffing off with a PB's work towel. Finally I applied the Blackfire Tyre Gel:

Another wheel arch:

And after:

Another wheel complete (shame the slight kerbing spoiled it):

Work towel after all that buffing:

Brilliant shine thanks to the tyre gel:

Rear wheel arch before:

More proof that a grit guard is useful:

Was a little depressing seeing all the little scratches and chips I have on the wheels, but they turned out ok afterwards. Now I got spanking clean wheels and a filthy car!

A step by step on how to clean your wheels... hmm slightly disturbing.

I'm glad to see Im not the only one to clean behind the spokes etc... They do look bling 8) Now all you have to do is clean the rest of the car and wait for the rain and the birds to fly by.

I suppose I should take my wheels off the car and clean them properly inside and out. Haven't done it since buying the car in 09/03   it looks well worth doing...

Might just leave that job to the refurb monkeys

And within 24hours they'll be covered in crap again!

Washed my car yesterday morning, and it's filthy already.
