As the topic suggests, what is the difference.
I did a forum search and the only thing I could filter out was that the pistons...?
Otherwise I think it's a straight swap but the GT is a tweaked engine. Does it actually have different engine components such as strengthened 'xxx'?
Curious because i'd rather have a standard 130 engine then remap to 150-160 than 100 remapped to 130-140 if you know what I mean.

basically the power is all that seperates the two and the GT has a few silver bits in the cabin....
...I want a GT engine in my car

My guess would be that the engines are different internally, as well as the ecu having a different map.
I would guess that the 100bhp version has more in common with the 115bhp version found in the golf.

When I looked up the subject a while ago some of the info I found was that the 130/150 hp tdi's have a different turbo to the 100 hp engine. The 130 has a side mounted intercooler like the 100, but the 150 has a front mounted intercooler as standard, The 150/130 has stronger internals (con rods + Pistons i think) plus the injectors are larger, and usually the 130/150's are linked to a 6 speed gearbox.
Along with different ECU, there may be other small differences engine wise.
The only difference between the gt and the sport polo's was the engine, gearbox, seat fabric, silver dash trim, and a perforated leather steering wheel. I nearly bought one when i got my 1.9 sport, but the GT I looked at was not very well specced compared to car I bought.
