Hi guys and Girls!

Just to introduce myself since your forum seems to be kick *ss, good to see this sort of community for our mk3 as there aren't so much around here in france!

I'm NeCrO owner of a Polo mk3, 1991 CL hatchback, red burgundy,1043 cc.
Bought in Italy (as I live in France)
90k kms, electric windows (looks like a DIY done by the previous owner, no idea though)
Pretty good condition!
I'll send a photo asa she's clean.

Having a few issues though since I bought her:

- Reverse grinds as I pass the gear!
- Springs are dead (rocks like a boat!!!!)
- Rusted chassis under battery (had to put a piece of wood for the moment!!!)
-Few dents on the back of the car (driver's side, just at the same level as the rear speaker!)
-Inside light doesn't work though bulb is ok.
-Ciggy lighter doesn't work either

That's just the basic probs!
I've been having a hell of a prob since I've tried to put my Stereo in the car!

Check this out:
=>
Ok I opened the radio hatch to find out that the iso connector was half butchered!
Three of the five cables are disconnected!
i put the three cables back in at their original place and plugged the radio in for test, I heard a sort of CD noise but no light or power (tried with key on and off and engine on and off)=> nothing at all.

Then I thought that i'll go and by a multimeter for testing the bl**dy cables but the car wouldn't start, the alternator would run but the engine wouldn't run as if the sparks wouldn't ignit!
All this with my green indicator light on + oil +water temp light!
I opened the door and these lights turned off and i managed to sart the car!!!!

So I decided to take a glance at the electrics and hell I thought I was gonna Die!
The previous owner did A GREAT deal of a mess apparently.

So For the moment I dismounted the door connector and screwed it to the chassis, the car starts but still got this light and radio and ciggy lighter issue!

Anyone got the electric scheme of the car or any advice for plugging the radio as I'm driving up to the UK nexwt week and don't really wanna be stuck in the cold in the middle of france!

Cheers maytes and see you soon.[/b]

hi mate, welcome to the forum!

Unfortunately i haven't got a wiring diagram, but the interior light/lighter socket issue sounds like a fuse has blown, as i think they both work on the same power feed.

hope this helps
