Anyone have interior dimensions for a MK2 Polo Squareback?

Hello, first post! and I am hoping someone might be able to help here.

I am thinking of buying an '82 VW Polo Squareback and wondering a few things about the interior.

1) Do the back seats fold down flat, or if not how hard are they to remove...?

2) How long is the inside of the car, and how wide as well?

I want to make a super cheap camping automobile and want to build a small make shift bed in the car. I am willing to weld in new types of rear seats if needed and even change the front to a fold flat seat like in the new Toyota Matrix if this will get me what I want.

I'm 6'2" and a big guy (120kilo) but use to roughing it and really just need length to stretch and not comfort :-)

Thanks and some good interior pics are much appreciated, especially ones with carpet and seats removed if possible... That would be nice.

Thanks in advance...

well the seats in the back fold flat and come out with about 4 bolts or so.
i have panneled one before in the rear and slept with the front seats folded forwards and slid forward to the max and you can get fully stretched.
i had like a flap from the exisiting seat font edge which went forwards onto the rear of the front seats to make a full size bed. super comfy for long surf trips
can get measurememnts tomoz if you want

The boot's a little over 4 foot with the seats down, and they come out very easily.

I'm 6 foot 1 and am nowhere near the roof when driving (and I have avery upright driving posture).

I can also sleep restfully curled up in the back seat. But then I can also sleep standing up.

Pictures of it panelled would be AWESOME!!! That is what I am thinking of doing to it as well...
Nice to know it is probably long enough. How wide is the car inside? What is in the way of width, the back towers is that it? Any chance my girl can squish next to me or is it on top only :-)

Sorry but the car is about a 2 hour drive away, so I want to make sure before I waste 40 euro in petrol that this is the car I want... I keep looking at a VW Caddy but we need seating for more than just the two of us sometimes.
Thanks for the quick answers though...

I want to tour through Europe, and sleep in the car maybe 4-5 nights out of the week. After we want a car we can take camping trips in, but have the possibility to sleep in it if needed...

Anyone have dimensions, or good pics of an interior stripped. I have searched through the forum a lot, but don't see anything that really shows the interior...

I bought an '83 Polo Squareback!!!! So no worries about dimensions and all that. I don't think it is going to be a problem converting it to do what I want to do...

Thanks for the help though, and I think I will make a few measurements and maybe post them here for someone else.
