Just finished washing my polo, went to unlock it by pressing the button on the fob, it would not unlock
So unlocked it from the drivers door lock, it set the alarm off when I opened the door and got in (little red light still flashing)
So I really need your help please.
thanks,

Paul.

Try and dry the door hinges and boot lock mechanism with a hairdryer, water may have just caught into them and its just playing up.

I wouldn't think it could be much else really.

To temporarily disable to alarm, unlock with the key and then start the car. :D

As per msn - the key needs re-programming.

both wrong, took it to VW dealer, he explained that it is another "safety" feature. when the battery in the fob gets low, it will only lock the car to save power. £3 for a new battery at the dealers (didnt wanna risk breaking a £300 key!) and I was away.
thanks for the suggestions people.

now we all know

i experienced this a few times though: when lock on the remote is pressed, the indicators did not flash but did flash when i unlocked it afterwards.

anyone else had that before?

I've had that where the indicators don't flash on lock - means one of the doors/boot/bonnet is not shut properly.
