Got sick of paying other people to do a rubbish job cleaning my car, and went out and bought some Meguiars stuff to do the job properly.
Spent just under £40 and 3 1/2 hours cleaning it, and am well chuffed with the results!

Nice job there mate, I've just got myself a Porter Cable Polisher and am now waiting for some decent weather to use it

Oh and Meguiars is deffo great stuff.

Cool congrats on getting the PC, I looked into getting one of those but couldn't justify the expense (to my g/f, of course it made perfect sense to me).

Got a sparky to stick the 110v plug on for me yesterday as he was round doing some work for us.

Just need to spend some more money on new polishes etc, pop round to see Dino and away I go.

Does the PC just eliminate the waxing stage by hand??

What megs stuff did you use bud??? nice shine off of that!!

Meguiars Microfibre Wash Mit - £9.99
Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo & Conditioner -£13.99
Meguiars Deep Crystal System Polish - £4.99
Meguiars Deep Crystal System Carnauba Wax - £4.99
Halfords Pack of 2 Microfibre Cloths - £2.99

And I already had a Karcher Pressure washer to do the preliminary rinse.

When I was wiping off the wax I wished that I'd also bought the Meguiars clay bars as below the rub strip on both front doors there were little bits of tar that hadn't come off. You cant really see them unless you get up real close, but I know that they are there. So will deffo buy some clay (£11.99) before the next wash.

good shine on that, spent afair bit of time cleaning by the looks of it. dont get on witht meg's though personally prefer autoglym.

Yeh your cleaning process is similar to mines, but ihave they clay bar. I also use megs. Whats the importance of polishing? I'm not clued up on the cleaning side of things. You polish then wax yeh or wax then polish? Is it not that one locks in the other? Can you use the PC for both stages?

Polishing increases the gloss of the paint, in preparation for wax and/or sealant products.

With a PC, you use polish to remove paintwork defects, like swirl marks and light scratches, to increase the gloss further.

You can also use a PC for the wax, which makes life much easier.

I want a porter cable. Noticed some scratches all over the roof under the light s in the car park. Probably be scared to use it though

Meguiars are ment to be bringing one out

Oh, and I totally recommend the Tech Wax. My car was last done in October and the car still has beading on it now
