Somebody please tell me my gear box it not about to blow up.

I am getting what sounds like the thrust bearing when engaging the clutch especially when changing into 1st gear and also into 2nd gear.

HELP!!!!

Actually the noise is noticeable when releasing the clutch and just after.

Help Anyone?

Ok - dont want to panic you. But what you are describing is a similar sound to what i have coming from mine at the minute. When I took it to the garage to have it looked at they said its the gearbox...but you cannot predict when it will go. It could be 2 miles it could be 20k miles. Since then I have done approx 3k miles, and not exactly taken it easy. If in doubt take it to a trusty mechanic and ask for an opinion. Hope this helps. Mine sounds like a whirring sound and is particularly noisy when the car is slowing down in gear. Hope that this helps.
