Is it ok to remove the head lights, put some soapy water in them and swill them around to get rid of the dirt inside? Obviously swilling with water after to get rid of the soap etc. Any one done this?

i wanted to find out about this aswell. some how ive managed to get flys in there and theyer irritating me now.

anyone on here done it before?

ive got the same problem, and mould, its gross.

i might bung mine in a bucket of soapy water this wk end, if i do...i'll let ya'l know how it goes, alternatively, i just change dmy headlights with halogens and the difference is AMAZIN!!

the side lights look so dull and yellow in comparison, myt just buy sum new casings and change the sidelight bulbs too!

i'll keep ya posted

You replaced them with halogens?! I thought it was a halogen bulb as standard - Thought you might have meant xenon filled ones instead

that may have been what i meant lol....im not really a mechanic, altho im quite proud that i managed to change the bulbs in minutes when the manual just said "take to dealer" lol

anyhoo....all i know is the bulbs before wer rle dull and yellowy, not theyre bright white its pretty dam sexi lol

I actually like my yellowy sidelight tinge

hehe all good Its all comparable to the colour of your headlights to be honest. Mine are bright xenon white, so xenon LED sidelights look awesome with them. Original halogens on the other hand look good with phillips bluevision ones for example

you get round washing yours then Arnoldo?!

Thinking high pressure air lines at work might be making an apperance when cleaing mine instead of lots of soap lol

Nah mine are actually V clean. No dirt at all in them. I cant see any problems tho with washing the insides of them out. Some people take the covers off and stick them in the dishwasher if that helps

Yeah I just had look at em and noticed some little metal clips, so going to take them off and see if i can take the clear front lense off and give them a good clean. My only worry is about sealing them again and getting condensation in them. But hey... only cost me £20 for the two headlights and the indicators.....bargain!

Is it via taking the metal clips off that people split them then?

i took those clips off before, it seemed to do sod all.

and theyre a bastard to get back on.

i rle dont think you can open them, the only way rle is take them off them shove a hose in the hole at the back i think.

i was guna do it this weekend but looking back on how much work seemed to be involved when i tried to take them off to change the bulbs i think i'll give it a miss!

i'll just stiuck to popping the bonnet and opening the back of the lights to change the bulbs in future lol
