To avoid rubbing, you may want to consider 195-40-17. If I'm not mistaken, Pirelli makes this size. Harry seems to be very pleased with them, and he hasn't had much (or any) rubbing issues.

Cue Harry's reply.

Harry's GTi is lowered on H&R coilovers and still doesn't rub (I don't think) so definitely go for 40's.

I'm running 195/40/16 continentals and they dont rub, i've only got the standard suspension at mo tho.

i'm here not been well all week so not had a chance to come online, mate go for the 195/40/17 and you won't be disappointed even when you lower the polo (it will need lowering if you going for 17's). 8)

VERY LOW as well!

It's hard to believe that Harry doesn't get any rubbing.

very low???

from the pics I saw of Harry's car, he's not that low...if he could tell me how much cm he's lowered, it could give me an idea.

hi jo by my reckoning i must be 70-75 mm low on the 17's you can't get a finger inbetween the arches what i will do is measure the front lip from the ground that will give an idea of how close it is, i'll get my friends digi cam and see if i can take some uptodate close ups for you.

didn't tought you could go more than -60mm with the 17" without rolling the arches...

can't wait to see the pics...
