1st time polo buyer

Hey am newb an about to purchase ma first mkIII an hav read the buyers guide but was wonderin if there was anythin else a should wacth for or if its a case of waitin and bein careful to find a minter. Also slightly technical question if a buy a 1.3 any chance it'll ever go like a gt as ma insurance is real bad due to 8pts!
