Sounds like this could be me.
Black 5 door gti.
Lowered on g60 steelies.
Black badges front and back
Red trim on front grill.
Now has vw roof rails
I live in winlaton and work in jesmond

Yip that sounds like you. I've seen you twice since then heading towards the shell roundabout.
You had the roof rack on, and must say the car looks sweet, very low too.
