Sabre Autostyling built a similar kit for Lax Pooer's Astra project car*, but it would probably be made out of fibreglass and fall to bits if the winds a bit gusty.

If ever win the lottery  , my dream Polo would be that bodyshell (bought from vw motorsport), fitted out with a full leather interior (not yet seen on a real 9n, but available from vw) - would probably buy a Fun with this option and take the rest of its interior with it into the shell (to get the shiny bits). Next, I'd buy a New Leon Cupra R and take (well pay someone to take) the front and rear suspension components (this would give the wider track and driveshafts that can take the power), brakes, and - of course, the 1.8T

Result - 225hp in a Polo shell, with all the toys. Nice.

So that would mean buying
- the shell
- a polo fun (drive train and shell being thrown away)
- a lean cupra r (shell and interior being thrown away)

Now, first step is to win the lottery....

Deek.

I have been in a Seat Leon Cupra R while it was being tested on a track and I would like to say that in the company of the cars mentioned above it would be a good contender. I wasn't able to drive it "cough" though I would imagine that if had done the power would be so much that I would get carried away with my young inexperienced driver self!

I am not glorifing dangerous driving in anyway. This was all done under controlled conditions but that didn't make it any less fun :D
