This weekend i cleaned my car for the first time since I got it. I couldnt have ever looked at her properly, like really properly... before, because as i was cleaning her the more and more i noticed that it looked like she had just been recovered from the bottom of a pond....i had to stick newspaper over my speakers on the parcel shelf and poke a tooth brush though the top of the boot to get all this pond weed stuff out!!!

is there anything you can stick on seals (sp?) to stop them growing moss??
lol

there was also a load of those helicopter things, a bit of seal and an old rag, under the bonnet....

all the inside of the doors and that are going green too :( but im going to sort that next weekend...

I am worried about the seals though, esp the sunroof one and the boot one, the sunroof one just seems to be deteriorating and the boot one bleeds black when washed?

I also noticed....

the windscreen wipers are going a bit rusty...
a couple of the VW wheel stickers are falling off
the VW badge at the front is all scratched
the back yellow number plate has trapped a loada black stuff in it
the pink and gold stripes arent all there

Its all aethstetic (sp?) though, i was just going around her going
     hehehehehehehehe

But it gives me a mission, i WILL make her smooth! hehe

That does sound depressing!! A couple of my seals also bleed black stuff when i wash it. Bloody annoying. I'm thinking of replacing them though.

The seals around my back windows always bleed black, its really annoying! Don't think theres much I can do about it other than replacing them tho.

Thats the same seals as mines. Had a good look at the seals and they do seem a bit rough. maybe a good bet to get in touch with vagparts.

Sometimes moss will grow on those fuzzy bits. I got light swirl marks, a few deep scratches, lots of stone chips with some down to the metal, corroding boot handle, corroded rubber aerial seal and the odd weird corroded mark/chip :(

Forgot to add my rear window seals also bleed black. Pain in the ass when washing the car, just need to make sure you clean the wash mitt after

yeah
i think the worst is when you wash the car when its sunny, the amount of scratches that you notice that you hadn't noticed before, its kinda depressing!
as soon as the sun goes behind the clouds then the scratches go away :D
