After being turned away from all the garages in Northampton, I can explain it.
Basically, the equipment most places use is on a ramp, and if the cars low, they risk damaging your car and their equipment.
What I'd do is go to
www.alignmycar.co.uk and find out who uses their equipment in your area. Their equipment works on ramps that sit flush to the floor, so they can get the car on safely. Their equipment is vastly superior to the stuff VW use as this stuff is made for the motorsport market. It costs more money but its definately worth it.

Try some local accident repair places, they often have the laser alignment equipment. I got a quote for £65, which was alot cheaper than VW's £105.

The Ramp Was a flat one, i have a low car and never scrapped one bit, After he had finished, he said just watch the toe at the back, Its set up great for handling but wear tyres lol

I've had similar words of wisdom from an ATS garage before too
What I don't understand is why every garage doesn't just have flat ramps, make much more sense.
They cost more because you have to have a fair bit of work done to your worshop floor.

Bloody garages, they should be grateful for the money!
