hello lads, im having a few engine problems with my 1.4 8v and i want more power but totaly love my car.... so ive been thinkin of a engine conversion..
ive been looking about at some engines i know will fit etc and 3 keep popin up....
Audi TT lump 1.8T
golf VR6 lump
and the G60 lump
now ive been takin to a few people and ive been thrown into lookin at the G60 lump at its more pratical to drive etc... due to the TT lump will be very powerfull and could be a challange to drive, and the have been put off the VR6 lump cos the sump is really low and would be ripped off the engine
so just woundering how much work would be required to get a G60 to fit into a 6n polo??

You'll more than likely need custom engine mounts and possibly custom driveshafts. Getting the wiring in could be, erm, interesting, too.
I think the biggest challenge is finding a good G60 lump to start with. The G-Lader needs regular servicing, and overall they aren't the most reliable engine out there. I've got a mate with one and he's having no end of trouble with it, although doubtless there are plenty of reliable examples being used everyday. Make sure the electronics are sorted

its been done before i'm sure! a red mk4 polo was featured in Golf+ in feb 2005 and that had a g60 running around 200bhp!
i've seen it in the flesh and the engine looked like quite a tight squeeze! but it is poosible!
another option is the 2.0l 16v from a mk2 ibiza cupra sport! 150bhp as standard i do believe and should (i'm told) go straight in!

of course you're factoring in the cost of upgrading brakes, tyres and suspension to cope with the extra power, i assume
