Are you a laptop fixer? what does that have to do with cctv? hehe for some reason that made think of cartoons....

anyways.

The socket thing you stick the power cable in is broken.

Basically i used to have to wiggle the cable to make it work cuz it was a bit fecked, only the other day i wiggled it and then it suddenly felt funny, i may have heard a crunch or may have imagined it...took the cable out the socket and put it pack in and it no longer clicks into place, so i must have broken something inside it. I tried to take it apart to look inside but it looks like id have to take the entire bottom off and even then im not sure i could see... i think i may have snapped a pin that goes inside the cabley bit?

Either the centre pin has snapped or the power block has come off the motherboard.

What make of laptop is it? This is usually a common thing with Toshiba laptops.

By trade i am IT based, the CCTV side of stuff i picked up as i came along in my current job.

i reckon it may be the center pin as i had a poke around inside and couldnt feel one there.

Its a dell, I dont really know where to go to get it fixed. You reckon it would cost much? Its also spanish but im assuming the actual comp is the same as over here. Wouldn't make sense to have different ones for different countries really...would it? :?

Dare i ask why it is Spanish? lol

It shouldnt be a problem.

Dont send it back to dell, they will charge you the earth..

You can order the bits online if you know someone that can fit them.
If not you need to send it off to a laptop repair place.

You would be looking for it to cost about £50 (i think)

Thanks
